Year 12 Media 2015: Focus Group
Year 12 Media 2015: Focus Group: This is our focus group we asked them questions about our music magazine they gave us feedback on our magazine this feedback is helpful ast they are around the same age of our target audience. So this is helpful as we fully can know what they like and dislike my feedback helped me as I know what to include and what to not include. They said what genre of music they like and whats popular for their age range so I will base my genre of music around this.

Mood board:
Here is my music magazine mood board: I have chosen a range of different music magazines from different genres because even though all these magazines are from different companies and genres they have a lot in common. As most of them are layered out in the same way with having the main image overlapping the masthead and taking up most of the space on the font cover. Also all these music magazines use the same colours which are bright colours like: white, red and blue. And the main image is either and head on shot or side on shot. All these things I will try to include in my magazine.

Females like celebrity biographies
so I can interview a celebrity about their time in school, they want the latest
beauty tips and they like things related to them so they like stuff about prom.
Males like football and keeping fit
so that could come under the latest beauty tips.

As my magazine is aimed at students
non of them have a job so they don’t have a high income. This is why the
magazine is going to be free. And the students main income will probably be
their parent/career. Students who attend this school are from working class or
middle class backgrounds.
-Describe your typical magazine
reader:
My typical magazine reader will be
interested in latest celebs as well as still being interested in their
education so they would want to know more about their school. But they want
their school magazine to include things they like for example prom or football.
Also if they want help they can ask the aunt agony page and this is good of
helping them as students go through a lot during school.
For
my main cover:here's my planning:
•I
want my main image to be an high angle shot as it could be looking down at the
students so this can suggest for the students something bad is coming their way
which is exams. And for this picture have the lighting which will be back lit
which will create suspension and mystery. So the the students will wonder
what’s coming their way.
•And
maybe I was thinking about either having the student of the week on my magazine
cover as a head on shot and then have sell lines around that image. So if I did
this image I would have the lighting beginning top lit to show the audience
that they are something special and important.
For
my colours I
will be using blues and purples. As blue represents authority and stays with
the theme of our school. And purple represents royalty and luxury.

as they know what will be in the magazine. And they they are essential for a

surveyed 13 people in total I think surveying 13 people in total was helpful.
As my school magazine is aimed at students who are aged between 11-18. Also my
magazine is aimed for 18+ people so (teachers).

Doing
my analysis was helpful as I can clearly see the difference in percentages. The
highest percentage will be included in my magazine and the lowest won’t be as
